| SLICE is a framework for developing Tablet PC applications for education, and an ever-expanding set of applications developed in the framework. It is especially oriented toward educational applications involving interactions between students and teachers. Application functionality is provided by user-editable scripts, in various scripting languages (such as Python), allowing for the customization of existing application or the creation of new applications. |

Following the links on the left, you can download SLICE, along with several applications, and view documentation of the framework.
We're anxious to hear from you with bugs and suggestions, and especially with new features or applications that we can share with other users. In addition to making the applications easy to install and use, we have tried hard to make the code for those applications - the Python scripts - as clean and well-documented as possible, so that ambitious users can use them to learn how to write their own applications.
The development of SLICE has been supported by Microsoft Corporation, with grants from their 2005 Tablet PC RFP, and by Hewlett-Packard, under their Technology for Teaching program. We have also gotten support from the CS department and the College of Engineering.
